Larry Martin
Larry Martin is a Senior Research Fellow and former CEO of the George Morris Centre. His areas of expertise include agri-food marketing and policy, farm and agribusiness management, and international agri-food trade. Larry has managed a variety of research projects in commodity hedging strategies, the impacts of freer trade on agri-food, and the competitiveness of agri-food industries. His experience is diverse and includes in-depth assessments of new business risk management programs and the facilitation of strategic planning processes.
Larry is also the director of the George Morris Centre’s education portfolio, which includes executive development programs for farm managers and agri-food professionals. Please visit www.georgemorris.org for more information.
Larry’s education includes Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Ohio State University and a Doctorate from the University of Illinois in Agricultural Economics. Larry was chair of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Business at the University of Guelph prior to joining the George Morris Centre. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Agricultural Economics Society.
