Les Kom
Les Kom is Wealth Advisor for BMO Nesbitt Burns. A bilingual native of Montreal who has made Ottawa his home since 1978, Les began his Wealth Management practice with BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1996, after a successful federal government career in senior financial and operational positions at the Treasury Board and Transport Canada, among other departments. As a personal financial and investment advisor, Les works closely with his clients, their families and their businesses to understand their individual situations and needs; assess future goals; and develop a tailored plan to reach these goals successfully, while recognizing and managing potential risks.
Les is an active community volunteer, having served as a mentor at the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club; Vice-President of the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa-Carleton; Entrepreneurial Advisor to the Ventures Café program for high school students; campaign speaker for United Way; Editor, Financial Planning, Journal of the Financial Management Institute of Canada; Chairman of Akiva Evening High School; and President, Ottawa Chapter, Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Les is an avid runner, tennis player and skiier. He and his two sons, who are studying at Carleton University, share a passion for sports (playing rec league basketball together), music, debate and travel.
