Stanley Hartt

Stanley Hartt is the Chairman of Macquarie Capital Markets Canada Ltd., having joined Macquarie Capital Advisors in 2009.  Macquarie is a global provider of banking, financial advisory, investment & funds management services with over $382 billion of AUM.
Macquarie operates in 28 countries with approximately 14,600employees globally.
Mr. Hartt was called to the Quebec Bar in 1965 and worked for the law firm Stikeman Elliott for twenty years.  From 1985 to 1988, he was Deputy Minister of the Department of Finance, under Hon. Michael Wilson.

From 1989 to 1990, he was Chief of Staff in the Office of Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.  From 1990 to 1996, he was Chairman, President and CEO of Campeau Corporation, a real estate and retailing enterprise.  In 1996, he became Chairman of Salomon Brothers Canada Inc., later renamed Citigroup Global Markets Canada Inc., a post he held until December 2008.
