Embassy Newspaper quotes MLI on the cost of inter-provincial trade barriers
On June 2, 2011, Embassy newspaper quoted the Macdonald-Laurier Institute in the article, “When it comes to trade with the EU, will Big Canada or Little Canada make an appearance?”
The article discusses the current trade negotiation between Canada and the European Union and how this possible agreement could not only bring down trade barriers between Canada and the EU, but between provinces. In this context, the article quotes an MLI analysis writing, “The Macdonald-Laurier Institute estimates that inter-provincial trade barriers cost Canadians $8 billion a year.”
