Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, global opinion of the government of China has been declining. To better understand these shifting opinions and discuss what the right approach is to China in the context, MLI Research Advisory Board Member Elliot Tepper spoke with Scott Thompson.
According to Tepper, what China owes the world is "openness and transparency, and that we have not gotten." Due to the regime's failure to be transparent and its other actions, including cyber attacks, influence operations, and the hostage taking of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, Tepper says that it makes sense that the attitude toward China "has plummeted."
